Parkview House is a new-build family home in a leafy enclave on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Designed to sit comfortably within its park-side environment, the home embodies a grounded sense of timelessness and elegance. The brief of the project was to create a home that responded sensibly to its location while offering warm and enduring spaces for family living.
This home is truly one of our favourites. A two-year passion project of meticulous planning and selections to create a space that is warm, inviting and architecturally refined. Timber, brick and multiple types of natural stone were used extensively to ensure the house ages gracefully and to enhance the sense of permanence and calm that the clients desired. Various zones have been designed throughout the home to respond to the challenges and complexities of family living. Some more open and inviting, others more moody and intimate - all working harmoniously to create one cohesive environment. These were brought to life with differing paint selections, joinery finishes and marbles to ground different spaces and to respond to the needs and requirements of its multi-generational occupants. The final result, we hope, is a calm and peaceful family sanctuary that reflects its setting and will continue to resonate with its owners for years to come.
